The validity indicator assesses whether the individual's responses were consistent and reliable. By employing the signal processing approach, A Prime, the validity indicator is able to detect random response patterns, suggesting that responses were entered without consideration of whether target or non-target stimuli were presented.&nbsp;An invalid assessment (red, or yellow for borderline results) indicates a high likelihood of random pressing, regardless of the rules of the test. Someone with an invalid test may have lacked the motivation or effort to perform to their best ability. In the case of an invalid test we recommend speaking with the individual, and if you assess that they are able to perform the test again with higher effort or motivation then have them to retake the test.
